~Barbie's Malibu Dream House Is Real!

We don't think Barbie looks a day over 25. But she actually just celebrated her 50th birthday in style surrounded by good friends Heidi Klum, Katy Perry, and DJ AM at her "real life" Malibu Dream House®, planned and decorated by celeb event planner Colin Cowie and interior designer Jonathon Adler. So just how does a birthday party for the legendary lady named Barbie go down? And how do you get a stay at the Malibu Dream House®?

As Cowie told StyleList, "The party was designed through her eyes. Today's Barbie is current, modern and a little bit sassy. This was the starting point and we took it from there."

Barbie's style over the decades translated into a killer Malibu Dream House®, complete with 800 pairs of Barbie® sized sunglasses, 3,500 pairs of Barbie® shoes and 3,500 Barbie® handbags. Fashionable guests like Ginnifer Goodwin and Lauren "Lo" Bosworth were asked to "channel [their] inner Barbie" while sipping Barbie Doll-icious cocktails at the dazzling bar "framed in fuchsia jewels lit from within, completely covered in alternating versions of Barbie from 1959 to the current re-release."

On the fashion tip, the new re-released doll, which debuted on March 9 (party day and Barbie's actual birthday), is totally on trend. Her new face features a "more natural look" while her duds reflect current pop culture – a two piece black and white bikini, pink hoop earrings, and of course, a cell phone (glued to ear optional).

After all is said and done, the incredible bedroom suite (check it out in the gallery), will be whisked away to the Palms in Las Vegas for the launch of their "Barbie Suite." And for all the big time Barbie collectors out there, you can pick up select items for purchase as part of the "Jonathon Adler Loves Barbie" collection launching September 2009.
