~So I Married an Axe Murderer... Week-end


Ok the week-end is here. So for your viewing pleasure I give you "So I Married an Axe Murderer."A lesser know Mike Myers movie. But, probably one of Mike Myers' finest films. The film is the story of Charlie MacKenzie, a commitment phobic who performs Beatnik poems in a San Francisco coffeehouse . Charlie is looking for the right girl of which he finds in Harriet, an attractive butcher whom Charlie falls head over heels for. The two begin to date but Charlie begins questioning his relationship when clues pointing to an serial killer show up and point directly to Harriet. I post the link to watch it all on line.

Here is your tasty themed treat....
San Francisco Sourdough Peanut Butter Beatnik Cookies

1 cup sourdough starter
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups flour, plus more if needed to make formidable dough
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix sourdough starter, peanut butter, butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla extract. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together. Add to sourdough mixture, adding a little more flour if needed to form balls. Form into small balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet and press down with fork. Bake at 350 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes.

Yields 36 cookies.
